Dear 42 People who Visit my Blog Everyday:
It’s over. Well… sort of.
No, no, it’s not what you think! I’m talking about the blog here, considering driving this vile baseball bulletin into the digital garage, turning the ignition key on, and then lowering the steel door about halfway. I don’t want to kill it—it’ll still be here—so much as put it into a deep comatose state.
I’ll probably pull it out of the carport every once in awhile, post something new, more for my own self-edification than anything else; e-mails to planet Mars.
Instead of *blogging*, I’ll focus my attention on launching a baseball history ezine, where I can share the 6,000 and 9,000 word essays and research papers I’ve been slaving over during the past couple years. Stuff which, due to its sheer size and scope, isn’t well-suited for the blogosphere.
We’re targeting an April release date, but more details will magically appear here in the near future.
If you like baseball history, gallows humor, and above-average writing, you’ll probably like the ezine. If you’d like to receive a free copy of the first edition, simply email me at s_simkus@yahoo.com. Put *baseball* in the subject line.
With some hard work and a little luck, I figure we’ll have 17 or 18 subscribers by 2015. And if I have to include pictures of naked women to reach that goal, I will.
Maybe someday this blog will come back full-time, return to its vigorous pace of one new post every 7.8 days, and this day’s entry will become legend, part of a bizarre dream sequence. Only time will tell.
If you like baseball history, “drop me a line.”
Cheers,
Scott Simkus

***UPDATE*** Thanks for emails. There’s been quite a few people interested in the premier edition of the ezine. Keep ‘em coming…we might hit 18 one or two years ahead of schedule.
